September 7th was our annual Beer Run and Memorial drive. The Charlotte region has been doing this for several years since one of our members, Scott Stalvey, who was known to enjoy a beer or two, passed away. A couple of years later, after we had lost a couple more members, we changed the name from The Scott Stalvey Memorial Beer Run to just the Memorial Beer Run. Each year we pick a date in the Fall (cooler driving), meet, and drive through lower Mecklenburg and Gaston Counties, arriving at a suitable facility in Bellmont to have lunch and a cold beer, or other beverage, and salute those who have left us during the year. This year we had four Triumphs, one MGB, a Mini, one BMW, one Lexus, and another brand of SUV, for a total of 17 members present. Only the SUV was not a convertible.
