ABOUT THE SHOW
Wheels Across The Pond is an annual car and motorcycle show that features exclusively British and European makes and models and takes place at the beautiful Carlin Park in Jupiter, Florida.
We first started in 2006 when a group of British classic car enthusiasts started a Quarterly Meet at the Queen Mary British Pub in Jupiter Farms, although at this time the group didn’t have a name – it was just a meeting place and an excuse to get the cars out on the road at the weekend.
As time went on, our Quarterly Meet attendees grew in numbers until one day we had 45 classic cars – and we found ourselves asking the question, “Why don’t we have a car show”?
So, we put our heads together and came up with the name, Wheels Across The Pond. The date was set and on April 7th 2007, the First Annual Wheels Across The Pond took place.
We wanted the show to be fun, like our Quarterly Meets, just on a grander scale – and our first show attracted 171 registered entries with the Best in Show going to a 1947 Rolls Royce Silver Wraith.
In 2009, we introduced our Star Cars feature, a display of very special cars that you don’t get to see very often, and also introduced our Euroclass which allowed those people with beautiful European cars (that aren’t British) to enjoy the show with us. We had entries from Ferrari, Porsche, Mercedes, BMW, VW and many more – and our 2009 entry list was 205!
For the 2010 show, we brought back the Star Cars and the Euroclass and a new addition for 2010 was our Star Guest. The 2010 show featured awards for Best in Class and Class Runner-up in no fewer than 25 Classes as well as some fun awards including Most Potential, Most Rust, Oldest Car, Oldest Motorcycle, Oldest European and of course, the coveted Best in Show.
New for 2011 was our Motorcycle Euroclass which will opened up the possibilities for some European classic bikes such as BMW and Ducati – this is a great addition to the show. Also in 2011, and based on Pre-registered numbers, we added a Porsche Class – we ended up with 12 Porsches on the day which really gave these owners a bit of a competition by pulling them out of the Euroclass.
Putting all of the above into perspective, Wheels Across The Pond has become known for its quality and its size and we pride ourselves in the fact the this show has become the largest of its kind in South Florida and some have even told us that it’s the best British classic car show in Florida.
Throughout the year, we use almost every and any excuse to get out on the road together with our cars, whether it be a caravan together to a local restaurant, a cars and coffee or show up at a retirement community for their residents to see the cars, or even be get out onto the race track at prestigious events such as Brian Redman’s Targa 66.
We’re not officially a club, we’re just a group of people that like to drive our cars – we hope that you will join us at Wheels Across The Pond and also for some of the fun events we have throughout the year.
Our 2019 show was our 13th Annual Show and attracted 301 entries and 46 separate classes and these entries consisted of 46 motorcycles in 8 classes, 76 European cars in 9 classes and 179 British cars in 29 classes.
Cars start arriving at 7:30am and continue the registration process until 10:30am. The show starts at 11:00am.
Our 16th annual show will take place at Carlin Park in Jupiter on Saturday March 30th 2024. Pre-registration is now open.
